THE END OF THE CORPORATION AS WE KNOW IT
The corporation will no longer exist by 2164, as it will be seen as a system that does not mesh with a progressive society. The corporation is designed solely for the pursuit of profit, and does not inherently take into account social or environmental factors or, the Triple Bottom Line. It will often pursue the goal of profit by in fact directly harming the environment or other people, in order to cut costs (see BP Gulf Oil Spill 2010, Industrial SweatShop labour, 1800- Today, food industry obesity epidemic). If humanity shall have to change drastically, the corporate system will not be a keeper. We can’t be sure of what exactly will take its place, but it is certain that the today’s preferred business model will have disappeared or been banned by 2100.
